Ok, so you thought I was still planning what to do? Not so! I have just opened a Twitter account. Still confused, but I will learn...
So we have all seen them, those hash tags: #bringbackourgirls, #blacklivesmatter and more, but what do they really mean? And how do you join one? How do you create one? I am planning on finding out!
My account is open, and I already feel that I am not a complete "oldie" and "out-of-it"!

Going on 50...
It is about time I get my act together and get back to blogging! so today I am starting a new project called "Going on 50!"
The thought hit me, while I was in the middle of doing something (aren't we always?):" In 54 weeks you will turn 50!" The next thought hit me immediately after: "What are you going to do about it?" Well, I can't do much about it...I can hate it, dread it or accept it - but I can have fun while I am at it!
In The Guardian I have read about some projects that other people turning 50 have taken on. One was prepared by the wife of the person turning 50 where the person had to do 50 things he had never done before, you can read about it here:
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/oct/10/50-things-to-do-when-youre-50-mini-challenges
Another one was a woman who decided to take on a birthday challenge and swim a mile a day for fifty days:
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/the-swimming-blog/2015/mar/02/my-50th-birthday-challenge-swim-a-mile-a-day-for-50-days
I really liked the ideas, and I have already decided that I definitely do not want a traditional 50th birthday celebration, no party, no speeches. But what do I want?
As my life is approaching a new phase I realize that the words of John Lennon are so very true: "Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans" - but it doesn't have to be like that.
So my challenge for myself is to do 50 things that I haven't done before, and to weblog them them during the 54 weeks I still have before my birthday (that gives me a few weeks without a challenge, because you never know...).
Do not expect anything radical, I have no plans of getting a tattoo, going skydiving or climbing mountains - but I will include new adventures in Rio, so I might get up a mountain some other way, you never know! So here it is: Going on 50 - and determined to have fun!
